The Scoop on Stephanie

Updates, News, & More!

A big thank you to those who came out for MOURNING BECOMES ELECTRA at Abrons Arts Center! We had wonderful sold out runs and were chosen as a NY Times Critics Pick. Playing Christine in this epic 5-hour trilogy was a dream come true.

I am directing a play at the University of Utah.

Check it out:

ECLIPSED Written by Danai Gurira Directed by Stephanie Weeks March 3-11 2017 Studio 115 in the Performing Arts Building

The Department of Theatre at the University of Utah proudly presents Eclipsed, based on the real life stories of the women and girls who helped bring peace to the African nation of Liberia during its second civil war. Eclipsed doesn't only capture a piece of untold history, it's also making it.

Eclipsed became the first play with an all-black female creative cast and team to premiere on Broadway in 2015.

2016 Tony-Award-winning Eclipsed has received many positive reviews. Robert Kahn of NBC New York described Eclipsed as a "colorful and fiery drama," and Jeremy Gerald of Deadline wrote, "Eclipsed is a major achievement--a scorching work about women and war whose humor burnishes rather than undermines its seriousness of purpose."
